"Present from the Past" by Richard Everett

The Director   Directed by: Valery Niggli

In 1979, having left her native Ireland and her much loved job as a Drama teacher, Valery was delighted to discover the ZCC early in 1980. Since then she has been involved in 25 or more productions, mostly "on stage". This is her fourth time in the Director's chair. Recently, Valery started drama classes in English for children aged 8 to 14. Future Comedy Club talent ?

The Cast:

Howard Howard:
Bill
Johnston
Bill was born and raised in Canterbury, New Zealand. After fifteen years in the Navy he came to Switzerland in 1987, where he has been working as an electrical and software engineer, based in Zurich but with extensive periods overseas. Bill's last appearance was in "Time of My Life", where he was also cast as the son of Alan.
Frances Frances:
Sylvia
Lynch
This is Sylvia's third performance with the Comedy Club. She is thrilled to be back under the scorching stage lights. She previously appeared in "Time of My Life" and "Much Ado about Nothing". Although born and raised in the U.S., she has yet to be cast as an American. Sylvia has been living in Zurich for 3 years. By day she works as a Public Relations Specialist.
Rachel Rachel:
Tricia
Tomlinson-Schmid
Tricia came to Zurich in 1982 and somehow never found a reason to go back. In England, drama was an important part of school life thanks to a drama-mad headmistress, and she was always involved in something. Unfortunately it was an all girls school and she always ended up with male roles. She last appeared for the ZCC as a glamorous journalist in "The Business of Murder", but is now back closer to real life in the role of a busy mother of three. In real life she has two young children and is not married to such a bumbling idiot.
Colin
Colin:
Denis
Garneau
Born in Quebec, Canada, in 1950, Denis first appeared on stage with Trish Tomlinson-Schmid (Rachel) in 1985 in a University Drama Group production of "Look, no Hands!" in the Keller Theatre. He played the part of Arthur in Jimmie Chinn's "Straight & Narrow" last May.
The unexpected Guest The unexpected Guest:
Alan
Bridgman
Alan is no newcomer to the Club, in fact he has been an active member for many years. Recent appearances include "Time of my Life" and "A Woman of no Importance". Although not in fact as old as David, the part he plays here, Alan is getting pretty close. It is fortunate that he is now retired and thus free to take a daily siesta.
