The Cast

The Cast:

Bob Bob:
Terry
Menard
Terry was last seen on stage as the perky impresario Cristopher T. Tavistock-Smyth (always with a hyphen) in another Jimmie Chinn play "Too Long an Autumn", which was performed last September in the Theater Stock. Other plays include "Much Ado about Nothing", "Billy Liar" and "Tom Jones". He also appeared in productions of "The Collection" and "Betrayal", both by Harold Pinter.
Vera Vera:
Joan
Bridgman
A Londoner, Joan came to Zurich in the sixties but joined the Comedy Club only in the eighties. Since then she has danced, sung and acted her way through various roles in the Club's productions, including "Stepping Out", "Dancing at Lughnasa" and most recently in last year's "Time of my Life". Joan is married and has two grown-up children.
Lois Lois:
Christine
Eusebio
Chris has been involved in many, many productions since joining the Comedy Club seventeen years ago. If not on stage herself, she is usually found backstage taking care of make-up and wigs, which she enjoys almost as much as acting. Recent appearances were as Kate in "Dancing at Lughnasa" and Beatrice in our 1996 production of "Much Ado about Nothing".
Jeff Jeff:
Stefan
Kollmuss
Stefan began acting at school, at the Institut Montana Zugerberg. He then went on to train at the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin, graduating in 1996. His most recent role was in the premiere of "Zeltner" by Peter Ochs (1752-1821) in April, and in July he will be playing in Grabbe's "Don Juan and Faust". He has worked for Swiss television as a moderator for Job TV. This is Stefan's first performance for the ZCC.
Nona Nona:
Annabel
Garneau
Annabel's mother appeared in the first performance ever given by the Comedy Club. A year later, to the very day, Annabel was born, her fate firmly sealed. Her first role was in 1976 as one of the schoolgirls in "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie". Since then she has been seen in a dozen Club productions, most recently last year in "Time of My Life" and in Jimmie Chinn's "Too Long an Autumn"
Bill Bill:
Martin
Russell
Martin burst onto the Zurich Comedy Club scene back in 1991 with a dramatic one-liner as the Major Domo in "Amadeus". As he became hooked on the smell of greasepaint, a string of other roles followed, the most recent being that of the irritating Castors salesman, Derek, in "Parentcraft" last year. He's experienced the thrill of working backstage too and would encourage anyone to "try it out !"
Arthur Arthur:
Denis
Garneau
Slowly but inexorably, Denis is becoming one of our veteran members. He discovered the Zurich Comedy Club when he was studying French and English Linguistics at the University. His most recent appearance, or perhaps one should say appearances, was/were in last May's "Time of my Life", when he played the roles of four waiters and the restaurant owner

International Support

Whilst the Zurich Comedy Club is based in Switzerland, it doesn't mean that we don't have International support.

Vera's Cardigan (that you can see in the pictures above) has been kindly donated by Senhora Maria Marsiaj living in Uruguaiana, a small town in Southern Brazil where she is known as the "Queen of Desserts" ("a Rainha das Sombremesas"). Last Year during an important meeting between Carlos Menem, the President of Argentina and Brazil's President Cardosa, she was asked to prepare her sumptuous deserts in their honour.

Boa Sorte Querida Dona Maria e muito obrigada
